16 August 2011,Tuesday - Shangri-La Hotel

Turkish Cultural Centre’s  12th Annual Dialogue and Friendship Dinner took place on 16th August 2011 at Shangri-La Hotel and was attended by 400 over selected guests from all segments of life including political, religious, business leaders as well as academicians. 

Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan was Guest-of-Honour. Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Mr Şafak Göktürk, Member of Parliament Cevdet Erdöl, President of Fatih University, Istanbul Prof. Dr. Şerif Ali Tekalan were among the distinguished guests. 

Minister delivered a speech on the importance of living together. At the end of his speech he was presented a gift by Prof. Cevdet Erdöl. 

TCC presented The Dialogue and Friendship Award to Geraldine Loh, Morene Sim, Colonel Lim Theam Poh and Alper Çabuk for volunteering day and night during the “1999 Project Disaster Turkey earthquake campaign” which was organized by Turkish Cultural Centre, Red Cross Singapore and Turkish Embassy. 

The guests enjoyed Classical Turkish Music and Sema performance and selected dishes from Turkish Cusine.
